Your (not so) new Brussels queer party
In the early 2000s, next » revolutionized the Brussels nightlife scene by offering the first queer (in the original sense of the word) parties for the LGBTQIA+ community and their friends. Every first Saturday of the month, a colorful crowd gathered to dance to a warm and groovy musical line-up.
Twenty years later, next » is back with the same positive vibe and musical eclecticism!
For more info, you can read the article about next » (and Different) published in Fond Susan Daniel magazine here
next » was born in a time when it was impossible to find a queer party with an alternative musical programmation in Brussels. So Luuuk and Piiit decided to bring some spicy vibes in the LGBTQIA+ night life: a mix of funk, pop, hip-hop, baile funk, reggaeton, new and old school bangers... anything to move your body and put a smile on your face!
Here's what a great journalist told about next» for the inside booklet of its cd compilation:
"With their ultra-discotheque way of bringing kitsch to funk, raï to rap, rock to electro, and the rest to the grace of idols - from Serge Gainsbourg to Michael Jackson, Kelis to Blur - as affective as they are effective, Piiit and Luuuk have succeeded in shattering the boredom of the total house set. Elevating the idea of a simple living-room surboum into a collective state of mind, next» is part of a revival of fun and seduction which, instead of the folklore of nocturnal hedonism, the pose of the go-go boy and the faded arrogance of handbag culture, prefers to rely on smiles and looks - giving dancers back what belongs to them: the dance-floor."
On this 3rd of May, the line up will be a "back to back" dj set between Rokia Bamba and Piiit (next » resident).
Expect happy vibes from funky to latin tunes, afro beats, (not so) rubbish pop hits, hip hop anthems, nu disco, booty bass, drum’n’bass, reggaeton and much more.
